Importing stocks is very simple and easy. You need to go to the portfolio holdings screen, click on the import button, and select stocks. There few methods of importing stocks lets understand them one by one -

Importing stocks with direct broker integration

This method uses SmallCase powered broker integration technology to fetch the investment holdings data directly from the brokers.

  • This method has a list of brokers that are available for integrating or linking.

  • Select the broker you have investments with, it will show you the webpage of the broker login screen where you need to login to your broker.

  • Once login details are provided successfully your broker will ask you to authenticate InvestMates for reading your investment holdings.

(Please note that InvestMates does not store any of this information with itself or can use this information for any purpose beyond showing it in your investment holdings.)

  • After giving the authentication your stock holdings will be fetched within in few seconds to minutes and your portfolio will be created successfully.

  • You will receive a portfolio imported successfully notification as well.

  • If you have stock investments in more brokers please repeat the same process with all the brokers you have investments with.

Advantages

  • Comprehensive P&Ls with complete investment data such as average prices, invested value, overall p&l.

Limitations

  • Daily syncing of new investments is only available for Zerodha and Groww brokers and not for others.

  • Limited brokers, banking brokers and new discount brokers not available.

Importing stocks with NSDL/CDSL integration

This import method uses RBI licensed and regulated Account Aggregator technology powered by our tech service provider.

  • This method is used when you don't see your broker mentioned in the list of broker integration.

  • In this method you need to provide your PAN number and Phone number and verify the OTP.

  • After verifying the OTP you need to select the depository that is NSDL or CDSL, you have your demat accounts with.

  • If you don't know which depository you have your accounts with then you can simple click one at a time and select the demat accounts listed under these depository.

  • For example lets say you have one Zerodha account and another ICICI Securities account but you don't know under which depository it is present, then select CDSL first you will Zerodha there, click back, select NSDL now you will see ICICI Securities there. You will not see the same but the demat account number.

  • once you have selected all the demat accounts, you just need to press the "Approve" button and your holding will start getting imported.

  • This process may take a few seconds of minutes, you will get a portfolio imported successfully notification and get redirected to the holdings.

  • Daily syncing of new investments.
