How to Set Up Your Family Portfolio
Accessing the Family Portfolio
Open Wealth in the bottom navigation.
In the Current Value card, tap Family Portfolio to access your family’s investment information.
Adding a New Family Member
Tap Add New Member at the bottom of the screen.
Enter the following details for the new family member:
Name
Relationship (e.g., spouse, child, parent)
Is this a real user?
Yes: Toggle to Yes if the person already has an InvestMates account. They will receive an invitation.
No: Toggle to No if they do not have an InvestMates account. You will manually enter their asset details as a Virtual Member.
Enter Email & Phone: This is required for real users to send the invitation.
Tap Continue to send the invitation to the real user.
Invitation & Acceptance Process for Real Users
Invitation Sent
The invited family member will receive an in-app notification, email, and SMS with your invitation.
Acceptance
They will open InvestMates, find your invite under Notifications, and tap Accept.
Once accepted, their live portfolio will appear on your Family Dashboard.
Managing Family Members
View and Manage Family Members
On the Family Portfolio screen, tap Manage Family to see all the family members linked to your portfolio.
Managing Actions for Each Member
Tap the ⋮ menu next to any family member to perform the following actions:
Remove Member: Remove them from your portfolio.
Resend Invitation: If they didn’t receive the invite, resend it.
Edit Details: Modify their name, relationship, or contact information.
Switch Between Portfolios: If you manage multiple family portfolios (e.g., for Parents and Children), you can switch to any family member’s portfolio for detailed insights.
Switching Between Portfolios
While in Wealth, tap the family name at the top of the screen to switch between your personal portfolio or any family member’s portfolio.
The Current Value card will show an overview of each family member’s portfolio value. Tap on any family member to view their individual holdings.
Things to Keep in Mind
Consent Required: Family members must explicitly accept the invitation before they are added to your portfolio.
Virtual Members: For relatives who don’t yet have an InvestMates account, you can add them as Virtual Members and manually input their asset data.
Accurate Contact Information: Double-check the email and phone number entered for real users to avoid delivery issues with invitations.
Privacy: Each family member has control over what data is shared. You’ll only see their balances and analytics after they accept your invitation.
Frequently Asked Questions
I invited someone but they didn’t receive the notification.
Make sure the email and phone number entered are correct. Tap Resend Invite next to their name to try again.
How do I remove a family member from my portfolio?
On the Family Portfolio screen, tap the ⋮ menu next to their name and select Remove Member.
Can I manage multiple family portfolios?
Yes! You can manage multiple family portfolios (e.g., Parents, Children, etc.). Switch between them easily by using the dropdown at the top of the screen.
What happens if a family member revokes consent?
If a family member revokes consent, their account will be unlinked, and you will receive a notification. They can re-accept the invitation later if needed.
