QVT Scores help you understand the strength of your stocks by breaking them down into three simple metrics: Quality (Q), Valuation (V), and Technical (T).

How to check your QVT scores

  1. Go to the Wealth Dashboard

    • Open InvestMates and tap on the Portfolio Health section.

  2. Explore Your Stocks Health

    Quality (Q)

    • Look at the donut chart:

      • Green means the stock is high quality (above 55).

      • Orange means it’s of medium quality.

      • Red means the stock is low quality.

    • Tap Check Quality to see a list of your top-quality stocks.

    Valuation (V)

    • Tap Check Valuation to see the pie chart showing:

      • Undervalued (below 30)

      • Neutral (between 30–50)

      • Overvalued (above 50)

    • Tap Check Valuation to filter for the most cost-effective options.

    Technical (T)

    • Tap Check Technical to see the bar chart:

      • Bullish means the stock is showing positive momentum (above 59).

      • Neutral means the stock has no clear trend.

    • Tap Check Technical to find stocks with the strongest market trends.

  3. Discover More

    • At the bottom of the screen, tap Potential Performers (Discover More) to see AI-powered stock suggestions based on your combined QVT profile.

How QVT Scores Are Calculated

  • Normalization: Each score is calculated based on how a stock compares to others in the market using metrics like ROE (for Quality), P/E ratio (for Valuation), and RSI or moving averages (for Technical).

  • Weighting: Different sub-metrics have different importance within each category. For example, ROE may be weighted more heavily than debt ratio in the Quality score.

  • Updates:

    • Quality and Valuation are updated quarterly based on the latest financial filings.

    • Technical scores are updated in near real-time based on market data.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Use QVT as a guide: These scores are meant to help you quickly assess stocks, but always do your own research and consider your risk tolerance before making any decisions.

  • Valuation nuances: A high Valuation (V) score doesn’t necessarily mean the stock is bad—it may simply be expensive relative to others and could still have strong growth potential.

  • Technical scores change quickly: Technical (T) scores are based on market momentum, so they can change rapidly. If you’re an active trader, you may want to check these more often.

  • Data lags: Quality scores are based on historical data and can change with new reports each quarter.

FAQs & Common Issues

  1. Why don’t I see the “Undervalued” slice in the Valuation pie chart?
It means none of your stocks fall below the undervaluation threshold of 30. Tap Check Valuation to explore other market options.

  2. Why did my Technical score drop overnight?
Technical scores are updated based on momentum indicators like RSI. A sudden change in the market (like an RSI crossing down) could cause the score to drop.

  3. The donut chart shows no red (Low) stocks in Quality—does that mean my stocks are safe?
Not necessarily. It means your stocks scored above the Low threshold. However, always review the individual ratios and trends before making any decisions.
