InvestMates allows you to manually enter investments that are not linked through brokers or account aggregators. This is useful for tracking assets like Fixed Deposits, Real Estate, EPF, Gold, NPS, Bonds, and Government Schemes such as PPF.

Step-by-Step Guide to Adding Investments Manually

1. Access the Manual Investment Section

  1. Open the InvestMates app.

  2. Navigate to your wealth dashboard screen.

  3. Tap on "Import" or Manual Entry.

  4. Select the asset type you want to add (e.g., Fixed Deposit, Real Estate, Gold, etc.).

2. Adding Different Types of Investments

Each asset type has its own unique form with relevant fields. Fill in the required details as described below:

A. Fixed Deposit (FD)

  • Bank Name: Enter the financial institution providing the FD.

  • Principal Amount: The amount initially invested.

  • Start Date: Date when the FD was opened.

  • Maturity Date: The FD’s maturity date.

  • Interest Rate: Annual interest rate applied.

  • Compounding Frequency: Select Monthly, Quarterly, Half-Yearly, or Yearly.

  • Maturity Value (Optional): If known, enter the expected maturity value.

B. Real Estate

  • Property Name: A name to identify the property (e.g., "Downtown Apartment").

  • Location: City/region where the property is located.

  • Purchase Price: The amount paid at the time of purchase.

  • Current Estimated Value: Market value based on current rates (manually updated).

  • Rental Income (Optional): If rented, enter the monthly rental amount.

  • Notes: Additional details (e.g., mortgage details, maintenance fees).

C. Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF)

  • EPF Account Number: If available.

  • Current Balance: Enter the latest balance (needs manual updates over time).

  • Monthly Contribution: Amount contributed each month.

  • Employer Contribution: Employer’s share of the contribution.

D. Gold

  • Type: Select between Physical Gold, Digital Gold, Gold ETFs, or Gold Bonds.

  • Quantity: Specify weight in grams.

  • Purchase Price per gram: Price at the time of purchase.

  • Current Value (Optional): You can update this manually over time.

E. National Pension System (NPS)

  • Account Type: Tier 1 or Tier 2 NPS account.

  • Scheme name: chose the scheme name.

  • Initial Investment: Amount invested initially.

  • Contributions: Enter additional deposits over time.

  • Units contribution: Enter your units contribution in Equity, Debt, Govt.

F. Bonds

  • Bond Name: Enter the bond’s name (e.g., RBI Floating Rate Bond 2025).

  • Issuer: Government or Corporate.

  • Purchase Price: The price at which the bond was bought.

  • Coupon Rate: Interest rate applicable on the bond.

  • Maturity Date: When the bond will mature.

  • Interest Payment Frequency: Select Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, or Annual.

  • Current Value: If updated, enter the latest value manually.

G. Government Schemes (PPF, SCSS, etc.)

  • Scheme Name: Choose from PPF, SCSS, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY), NSC, KVP, etc.

  • Account Opening Date: Date when the account was started.

  • Initial Deposit: First amount deposited in the scheme.

  • Current Balance: Enter the latest balance (manual updates required).

  • Interest Rate: As applicable to the scheme.

  • Maturity Date: When the scheme matures (if applicable).

3. Reviewing and Saving Your Investments

  • After filling in the necessary fields, review your entries for accuracy.

  • Tap Save Investment to add the asset to your portfolio.

  • The manually added investment will now appear in your portfolio under the respective category.

Important Notes:

  • Manually added investments DO NOT sync or update automatically. You need to update values (e.g., interest, market value) periodically.

  • Manual investments are included in your total portfolio analytics, but automated insights may not be available for these assets.

  • You can edit or delete manually added investments at any time by selecting the asset from your portfolio and choosing the edit/delete option.
